The suspect, Evans Kimande, is alleged to have strangled his one-year-old child at their home in Kangoya village following a disagreement with his 35-year-old wife.

The horrific event came to light when the local Nyumba Kumi village elder reported the matter to the authorities, prompting an immediate response from the police. 

According to Kiambu Police Commander Mohamed Badel, the elder's quick action played a crucial role in alerting law enforcement to the crime.

Investigations reveal that Kimande waited for his wife to leave for work before committing the act.
