Gates will open at 7 pm, and the show will commence at 8 pm. Tickets for this event were priced at Sh 7000. In a strict policy by the organizers, no phones will be allowed during the show.
Upon arrival, all phones and smartwatches will be secured in Yondr pouches, which will be unlocked at the end of the show.
Guests will maintain possession of their phones throughout the night and can access them at designated Yondr unlocking stations in the lobby if needed.
Punchline Comedy Club emphasized, “Anyone caught with a cellphone in the venue will be immediately ejected. We appreciate your cooperation in creating a phone-free viewing experience.”
Chappelle is known for enforcing a no-phone policy during his shows to protect his work and prevent unauthorized recording and distribution of his material.
Forbes Magazine reports that such regulations help avoid distractions, copyright violations, and misuse of content, leading to better performances and enhanced comedy development.
Starting his stand-up comedy career at just 14, Chappelle moved to New York City after college to pursue comedy full-time.
