A tragic incident unfolded on Friday as a 30-year-old police officer, Constable Tiffany Wanyonyi, stationed at Kiwanja Police Post in Kahawa West, Nairobi County, was brutally murdered by her husband, 40-year-old Jackson Oloitele, following an alleged altercation in Webuye, Bungoma County.

The couple had traveled to attend the funeral of Wanyonyi's late grandmother at Misemwa village.

The circumstances leading to the fatal attack remain unclear, but reports suggest an argument escalated into violence, resulting in Wanyonyi's untimely death.

Wanyonyi's lifeless body was discovered with severe neck and head injuries, suspected to be inflicted by a sharp object. Oloitele surrendered himself to the authorities following the incident.

The deceased's body has been transferred to Lugulu Mission Hospital mortuary for storage, awaiting further examination in a postmortem procedure.
