The family of Charles Ouda, the esteemed Kenyan actor widely known as 'Charlie,' has sadly announced his passing at the age of 38. 

In a collective statement, the family, along with Charlie's fiancée, former BBC journalist Ciru Muriuki, has requested privacy during this time of mourning.

Reports indicate that Charlie, a cherished son, brother, and friend, passed away on the night of Saturday, February 3. 

The circumstances surrounding his demise remain unclear, and the family has assured that more information will be shared in the coming days.

The joint statement expresses, "Dear friends and family, it is with deep sadness that we convey the loss of Charles 'Charlie' J. Ouda on the night of February 3, 2024. 

We kindly request everyone to allow his fiancée Ciru and the Ouda family the space to navigate through this profound loss. Further details will be communicated in due course."

Charlie leaves behind a legacy marked by his memorable roles on television shows like Know Zone, Makutano Junction, Changing Times, Count it Out, and The First Grader.
