The man, identified as Muumbi Makato, has been confirmed by Area Chief Antony Muia as the biological father of the two children, aged 10 and 15 years.
Chief Muia revealed that Makato had been living alone with his children after separating from his wife.

According to the Chief, Makato attacked his children as they slept, fatally hacking them with a machete. The police later recovered the bloodied weapon at the scene.
Chief Muia also noted that Makato was a reclusive individual who rarely interacted with others in the community, making it challenging to understand what might have driven him to commit such a horrific act.
The bodies of the deceased were transported by police to Kilome Nursing Home.
