A middle-aged woman's lifeless body, unclothed, was discovered on Wednesday in the Gwa-Kairu area of Juja, Kiambu County.
The Juja sub-county Police Commander, Michael Mwaura, confirmed the incident, stating that detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Juja have already visited the scene.
The victim displayed evident physical injuries and facial bruises, indicating signs of a struggle in the surrounding area.
Notably, leaves of muguka, a type of khat commonly referred to as 'Jaba' in Kenya, along with groundnuts, were also found at the crime scene.
Police Commander Mwaura reported that the identity of the deceased is yet to be established. The body has been transported to the General Kago funeral home in Thika County for a post-mortem examination as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident kick off.
