In a tragic turn of events, socialite Starlet Wahu met a gruesome end as she was discovered murdered on Thursday at an Airbnb located in South B, Nairobi County.

The 26-year-old victim had checked into Papino Apartments the previous evening in the company of a man identified as 34-year-old John Matara, according to police reports.

Surveillance footage from the apartment complex captured Wahu and Matara entering an elevator, disembarking on the fourth floor, and proceeding to their rented room for the night.

The grim discovery unfolded when the Airbnb's owner, Florence Ngina, informed authorities that Matara hastily departed the premises on Thursday morning, visibly wearing blood-stained clothes.

Upon receiving this information from a vigilant security guard, Ngina rushed to the scene, only to find that the apartment had been locked from the outside.

Using a spare key, she gained access and made the grim discovery of Wahu's lifeless body lying in a pool of blood in the living room. Subsequently, Ngina filed a report at South B police station, leading to the prompt arrival of police and DCI officers at the crime scene.

Police reports suggest signs of a struggle, with the apartment appearing bloody, disarrayed, and chaotic. Wahu reportedly suffered stab wounds to the head and right thigh, as disclosed by a source familiar with the matter.

Disturbingly, the investigation revealed the presence of HIV testing kits, used condoms, marijuana, a bottle of alcohol, and a blood-stained kitchen knife believed to be the murder weapon.

Wahu's body has been transferred to City Mortuary for storage pending a post-mortem examination. In the course of their investigation, police were able to track down Matara using his phone, locating him at Mbagathi County

Hospital where he was reportedly receiving treatment for a stab wound. Matara, accompanied by a friend, was subsequently arrested and detained for questioning after being discharged.

As the investigation into this harrowing incident unfolds, authorities are diligently working to uncover the motives and circumstances surrounding the murder of the popular socialite.
