In Kiambu County, the discovery of a human head, believed to be that of the late Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) student Rita Waeni, has been reported.
The head was located on Sunday evening at Kiambaa dam, as confirmed by Kiambaa police commander Pius Mwandhi during a press briefing at the scene. Investigations into the incident are currently underway.
Rita Waeni, a 20-year-old student, was found dead with mutilations in an apartment in Nairobi's Roysambu area on January 14, with her head missing. The victim's identity was initially unconfirmed by the police but later revealed by the family.
The family disclosed that Rita had left her aunt's house in Syokimau to meet a friend, leading to the tragic discovery.
