Political activist Morara Kebaso was arrested for allegedly causing a disturbance at the Bomas of Kenya during the public participation exercise on the impeachment motion against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua last Friday.
His lawyer, Pareno Solanka, revealed in several posts on X (formerly Twitter) that Morara was initially taken to Lang’ata Police Station in a Subaru before being transferred to Karen Hardy Police Station.
According to a charge sheet seen by Citizen Digital, Morara is accused of shouting, "kufa dereva, kufa makanga," which disrupted the proceedings and caused a breach of peace.
The charge sheet stated that his words during the public participation forum triggered a reaction from the crowd, escalating the situation.
The incident unfolded on October 4, 2024, at Bomas of Kenya, located in Lang’ata, Nairobi County.
Morara found himself in the midst of chaos during the forum, which led to him fleeing for safety.
Upon his arrival, he was met with hostility from suspected goons who hurled chairs at him, forcing his security team to intervene and whisk him away.
In the aftermath of the event, Morara reflected on what he termed a premeditated attack.

Speaking on Spice FM, he claimed there were clear indications that a trap had been set for him. According to his account, he was initially blocked from entering the venue by police officers at the main gate, but public pressure eventually allowed him access.
"I was prevented from entering the doors at Bomas multiple times. Even when I reached the main door, a high-ranking officer informed me that I could only go in with one person, which I believe compromised my security," Morara said.
He further noted that he had publicly announced his position on TikTok and X, advocating for the impeachment of both the President and the Deputy President, which he believes made certain individuals uncomfortable and led to the confrontation.
