The incident occurred in Nyakongo, situated within the Kitutu Central area of Manga. The epicenter of the landslide is identified as the Gionserio quarry, where conspicuous cracks have emerged, exacerbating concerns over safety.

Evans Nyang'au, the local Area Chief, highlighted the extent of the damage, noting the presence of fissures along the Gionserio-Nyakongo road.
