Kenyan musician King Kaka and his longtime partner, Nana Owiti, have reportedly parted ways after twelve years together. 

For the past eight months, King Kaka has been residing alone following Nana's decision to rent her own apartment.

Their relationship, which produced two children, has reached its conclusion amid financial challenges and shifting circumstances.

The troubles initially surfaced in 2022 when King Kaka fell ill and depleted his savings accumulated from his music career during his hospitalization. 

Despite his efforts to revive his music career upon discharge, success eluded him, placing additional strain on their finances.

Nana had been a steadfast supporter throughout, but by 2023, the situation became unsustainable as King Kaka struggled to maintain their lifestyle and meet financial obligations, including a hefty monthly rent of Ksh 50,000 and expensive school fees for their children.

As the financial strain persisted and King Kaka's career failed to rebound, Nana reached a breaking point.
