The Eldoret High Court has found Melisa Muhinda guilty of murdering her husband, Geofrey Matenje, with the assistance of boda boda rider Ekiru Amatuka.
Muhinda and Amatuka were apprehended after suspicious members of the public intercepted them while they were transporting Matenje's mutilated body parts in October 2018.
The ruling, announced by Judge Reuben Nyakundi on Monday, concluded that Muhinda, accompanied by boda boda rider Ekiru Amatuka, was involved in Matenje's death on October 6, 2018, in Kamukunji, Eldoret town.

The prosecution successfully presented substantial evidence implicating both Muhinda and Amatuka in the murder of Matenje, who worked as a newspaper vendor.
As a result, Judge Nyakundi ordered the duo to be remanded in Eldoret prison until June 3, 2024, when the court will issue a sentence.
The gruesome incident in 2018 saw Muhinda brutally attack her husband, mutilate his body, and conceal it in a sack.
She then enlisted Amatuka's boda boda service to transport the dismembered remains.
