Audrey Chemutai and Ian Churman, a Kenyan couple currently residing in Australia, recently captured the hearts of many by orchestrating a traditional Koito ceremony despite the geographical distance separating them from their homeland. 

The couple's special day fell on Wednesday, April 3, but their busy schedules abroad prevented them from physically returning to Kenya. 

Undeterred by this obstacle, they decided to embrace technology and host a virtual celebration instead.

Through the wonders of modern technology, Chemutai and Churman held their Koito ceremony via Zoom, allowing them to participate remotely as the festivities unfolded in Uasin Gishu county.

He highlighted the couple's innovative use of technology to be part of the ceremony, underscoring the success of their virtual celebration.

In an exclusive interview with TUKO, Churman expressed his excitement at the successful culmination of their special day. 

He revealed that, following the Koito ceremony, they also organized an engagement party in Australia, further celebrating their love surrounded by friends and family.

Reflecting on the event, Churman emphasized its success and revealed that they watched the ceremony unfold in real-time via Zoom from Australia. 

Despite the physical distance, their engagement party in Adelaide, where Chemutai's parents reside, added another memorable chapter to their celebration, lasting five hours and further reinforcing their commitment to each other and their cultural heritage.

The couple's story is a testament to the power of technology in bridging distances and uniting communities worldwide. 

Their willingness to adapt and embrace virtual platforms and Tiktok allowed them to honor their traditions and share their joy with loved ones, regardless of physical barriers.
