Kisumu: 3-Year-Old Boy Drowns in Open Borehole While Playing

Tragedy struck Bodi market in Nyakach sub-county as a 3-year-old boy lost his life in a devastating incident. 

While playing with his friends in the market, the young child accidentally fell into an open borehole. 

Residents later discovered his lifeless body floating in the water. The boy was rushed to Nyabondo Mission Hospital Mortuary but, unfortunately, efforts to revive him were in vain.

Upper Nyakach Assistant County Commissioner, Dawin Orina, confirmed the heartbreaking incident and emphasized the importance of sealing water bodies, especially during periods of heavy rainfall. 

The boy, accompanied by his mother who is a trader in the market, had innocently been playing with his friends when the tragedy unfolded.
