Police in Nakuru County arrested three individuals and seized 138 kilograms of bhang in two interconnected incidents.
The arrests followed the interception of a Nissan Vanette carrying 9 bales of bhang in Subukia, leading to the apprehension of two accomplices in Nakuru City found with an additional 36 bales of the drug. Legal proceedings have been initiated at the Rift Valley Regional Headquarters in Nakuru.
The first interception occurred in Subukia, where a Nissan Vanette disguised as an animal feed transporter was found carrying 9 bales of bhang.
Acting on a tip-off, DCI detectives interrogated the driver, 32-year-old Evans Oluoch Rogo, who then led them to his associates in Nakuru City.
In Nakuru City, Ali Abdikadir Ali, 30, and Ortofa Dida, 28, were apprehended with 36 bales of bhang hidden in a Toyota Crown vehicle.

The drug, destined for distribution, was seized from the duo who were found at Qualit Hotel in Nakuru City. The total weight of the intercepted bhang from both incidents amounted to 138 kilograms.
The DCI confirmed the arrests and seizure, stating that legal proceedings have commenced at the Rift Valley Regional Headquarters in Nakuru.
This coordinated effort by law enforcement demonstrates a commitment to combating drug trafficking and upholding public safety in the region.
