Tawe Defends Cross Country Title, Jebet Wins Women’s Race

Sebastian Tawe has once again proven his mettle as a formidable force in the world of cross country running, successfully defending his national title in a thrilling 10km race at Ruiru Prisons ground. 

Tawe's tenacity was on full display as he crossed the finish line with a time of 28 minutes and 38.3 seconds, narrowly edging out his closest rival, Samuel Chebolei, who finished just milliseconds behind at 28 minutes and 38.9 seconds. 

The podium was completed by the impressive Gideon Rono, securing third place in a tightly contested battle of endurance.

In a remarkable display of talent and determination, Agnes Jebet Ngetich shattered records in the women's race, completing the course in a breathtaking time of 31 minutes and 50.9 seconds. 

Her exceptional performance has rightfully earned her the honor of leading the Kenyan team at the upcoming World Cross Country Championship in Serbia.

Despite facing challenging weather conditions characterized by scorching heat, both Jebet and Emmaculate Anyago remain undeterred in their pursuit of excellence. 

Jebet highlighted the difficulties posed by the intense sun but remained steadfast in her belief in Kenya's ability to excel on the global stage. 

Anyago echoed her sentiments, emphasizing the inclusive nature of athletics and her unwavering commitment to representing her country with pride.
