The funeral ceremony for the late marathoner Kelvin Kiptum has begun, marking the start of a solemn farewell to the renowned athlete. 

Departing from Eldoret Hospital mortuary at 9:00 am on Thursday, the cortege embarked on its journey with family and friends joining to accompany Kiptum on his final voyage. 

As the procession traverses through Eldoret town, a somber atmosphere envelopes the community, reflecting on the life and achievements of the departed.

Arriving at Kiptum’s home in Iten, the procession pauses for a moment of reflection and remembrance. 

Here, amidst the tranquil surroundings, a church service is held to honor Kiptum's memory and celebrate his life's journey. 

The public is invited to pay their respects and bid farewell to the late athlete, gathering to share in the collective mourning of his passing.

Among those paying tribute are esteemed athletes Milcah Chemos Moses Kiptanui, Amos Kipruto, Vivian Cheruiyot, and Janet Chepkosgei, who stand in solidarity with their fallen colleague.
