In a hurry? Here’s a quick summary…
Ednar Owuor, represented by her lawyer Joseph Oyaro, sought court orders to halt Kiptum's burial.
Owuor claimed to have a child, aged one year and seven months, with the late marathon record holder.
She appeared in court with the child, asserting that she was not involved in the burial arrangements.
Owuor requested DNA testing to confirm paternity before the burial proceeded.
Justice Wananda declined Owuor's requests, citing the advanced stage of burial preparations and associated costs.

On Thursday, February 22, Ednar Owuor, represented by her lawyer Joseph Oyaro, brought a case before the court in an attempt to halt the planned burial of Kiptum.
The 22-year-old asserted that she is the mother of a child, aged one year and seven months, whom she claims was fathered by the deceased marathon record holder.
Presenting herself alongside the child, Owuor sought to prevent the burial scheduled for Friday, February 23, arguing that she had not been included in the funeral arrangements.
Additionally, she requested DNA testing be conducted on the body to confirm paternity before proceeding with the burial.
In a decisive ruling, Justice Wananda declined to grant the woman's requests. He reasoned that the burial preparations had been underway for a considerable period, incurring substantial expenses, and halting the proceedings at this late stage would be unjust.
