‘Don’t Be Lazy, Give Us Your Ideas!’ Charlene Ruto Tells Kenyan Youth

President William Ruto's daughter, Charlene Ruto, has addressed the pressing issue of unemployment in the country, urging young people to take initiative and carve their own paths instead of waiting for elusive assistance.

Charlene emphasized the scarcity of job opportunities for the youth, stressing that the solution lies in their ability to create opportunities for themselves.

Having received numerous job applications from fellow youth, Charlene emphasized the necessity for young people to explore alternative avenues due to the insufficient availability of opportunities to accommodate the growing number of job seekers.

She encouraged young individuals to break out of their comfort zones, actively seek out networking opportunities, and proactively engage with available opportunities.

Highlighting the limitations of governmental intervention, Charlene emphasized the importance of the government supporting and amplifying the initiatives already undertaken by the youth to foster their entrepreneurial endeavors.

Drawing from her role as the patron of the Smachs Foundation, Charlene reiterated the importance of pursuing and nurturing passions rather than solely focusing on traditional employment avenues, which may not always materialize.

Charlene urged aspiring entrepreneurs to approach her with concrete ideas and initiatives, emphasizing that proactive engagement with initiatives like tree planting or beekeeping would garner more attention and support than simply requesting employment opportunities.
