UN Rights Chief Urges Uganda to End Civilian Trials in Military Courts Following Besigye’s Abduction

The suspects, Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, Amos Momanyi, and Moses Ogembo, were presented before Principal Magistrate Irine Gichobi at Makadara Law Courts, with Jumaisi being the prime suspect in the grisly murders reported a month ago at a quarry in Nairobi’s Pipeline Estate.
The court, after hearing submissions from both sides, ruled that Jumaisi, the main suspect, would be held at Gigiri Police Station for seven days.
Meanwhile, the other two suspects, Momanyi and Ogembo, are to be detained at Muthaiga Police Station for the same duration, with the case scheduled for mention on August 26.

The investigating officer informed the court that they have identified six individuals from body parts recovered at the quarry.
The suspects may face murder charges after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) reviews the six files for further instructions.
