A tragic incident in Kitengela, Kajiado County, left residents in disbelief as a 59-year-old man took the life of his stepdaughter through stabbing before ending his own. 

The events unfolded on Sunday night, May 5, reportedly triggered by marital discord between the man and his estranged wife.

According to reports, the man attacked the 16-year-old victim with a kitchen knife when she entered the house to retrieve a phone, prompting neighbors to intervene upon hearing her distress calls.

Despite their efforts, the girl succumbed to her injuries before help could arrive.

Responding to the commotion, authorities discovered the lifeless bodies of both the stepfather and his stepdaughter, along with the murder weapon. 

A suicide note left behind by the man indicated his intention to "punish" his estranged wife for leaving him, accusing her of infidelity and expressing resentment for perceived disrespect throughout their marriage.

The note, translated loosely, conveyed his feelings of betrayal and his decision to "rest" while leaving his wife to bear the emotional scars of their tumultuous relationship. 

The police examination of the scene revealed multiple stab wounds on the girl's body, including her back, abdomen, and left breast, alongside defensive marks on her arm. Similarly, the man had stab wounds on his abdomen.
