The National Youth Service (NYS) Announces Nationwide Recruitment for Volunteer Servicemen and Servicewomen

Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has shared an advertisement detailing the National Youth Service's recruitment drive for volunteer servicemen and servicewomen across the country. 

The recruitment exercise is scheduled to take place between February 5 and 9, 2024, and will be conducted in all sub-counties in Kenya.

Interested individuals must fulfill specific requirements, including a minimum of a D (plain) and above in their KCSE exams. 

Additional criteria include:

  • Kenyan citizenship and residency in the respective sub-county of application.

  • Age between 18-24 years.

  • Possession of the original National ID and academic certificates at the recruitment venue.

  • Certificate of good conduct.

  • Willingness to undergo medical check-ups during and after the recruitment exercise.

  • Readiness to undergo rigorous physical training.

  • Willingness to voluntarily serve in any part of Kenya.

Successful candidates will receive instructions on reporting to NYS training colleges in Gilgil and Naivasha. Orphans are given priority during the recruitment, requiring evidence such as death certificates and burial permits. 

Persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply, provided they can meet the demands of the rigorous physical training.
