"I have instructed the relevant directorates within my government to initiate a comprehensive crackdown on individuals violating established guidelines for development," stated Governor Wavinya Ndeti.
The Governor emphasized the mandatory requirement of obtaining approvals from the county's Department of Lands, Housing, Urban Development, and Energy before commencing any development projects in Machakos County.
She warned both local and foreign investors against undertaking construction without proper approvals, emphasizing the need to comply with administrative procedures to avoid evasion of necessary revenues.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Greatwall Gardens phase six housing project in Athi River, Machakos County, Governor Ndeti underscored the importance of orderliness in the region, urging investors to adhere to established protocols.
She identified areas such as Mavoko, Matungulu, Machakos town, and Matuu in the Yatta sub-county as locations where unauthorized construction attempts had been reported.
The Governor reiterated her commitment to promoting policies that attract real estate investors, acknowledging Erdemann Properties Limited for their contribution to the development of the region.
