Department: Retail Sales – Beauty & Skincare 


Location: Nairobi, Kenya (with possible rotation across stores) 


Employment Type: Full-Time 


Reports To: Store Manager 


About the Role


We are a fast-growing retail chain specialising in premium beauty and skincare products. We are looking for a passionate, customer-obsessed Beautician who combines professional beauty expertise with strong sales drive. This is not just a treatment role; you will be a key player in driving revenue by turning every customer interaction into a personalized beauty solution and a sale.


You will be the face of our beauty counters, delivering exceptional in-store experiences while consistently meeting and exceeding aggressive monthly sales targets.


Key Responsibilities


  • Provide quick, professional beauty consultations and skin analysis to customers within limited timeframes.

  • Deliver expert product recommendations and demonstrations to drive immediate purchase decisions and maximise conversion rates.

  • Achieve and consistently exceed monthly individual and team sales targets.

  • Actively promote new arrivals, promotions, and high-margin beauty & skincare products.

  • Maintain deep and up-to-date knowledge of all beauty and skincare products, ingredients, benefits, and usage.

  • Track and manage inventory – conduct regular stock checks, report low stock, damaged items, and ensure accurate shelf replenishment.

  • Keep the beauty counter clean, well-merchandised, and fully stocked at all times.

  • Capture customer details for follow-up where possible and build repeat business.

  • Accurately record sales transactions and customer feedback in the POS system.

  • Support store operations including opening/closing procedures and visual merchandising.

  • Comply with airport security, health & safety, and brand standards at all times.

  • Meet or exceed 100% of monthly personal sales target (target communicated based on store performance – typically aggressive due to high footfall).

  • Maintain a high conversion rate from customer interactions to completed sales.

  • Contribute significantly to the overall beauty category sales growth.


Requirements


Education 


Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy, Cosmetology, Skincare, or related field from a recognised institution.


Experience


  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Beautician, Beauty Advisor, or Sales Consultant in beauty/skincare retail environment.

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a fast-paced, target-driven retail setting is mandatory.

  • Experience in high-traffic retail store is a strong advantage.



Skills & Competencies


  • Excellent product knowledge of skincare and beauty products 

  • Strong sales and persuasion skills with a consultative, non-pushy approach.

  • Ability to deliver quick, effective consultations under time pressure.

  • High attention to detail for inventory tracking and stock management.

  • Outstanding customer service skills and a friendly, engaging personality.

  • Ability to stand for long hours and work flexible shifts (including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays).

  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS systems.

  • Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus).
