Kenyan social media commentator Scophine Aoko Otieno, widely known as Maverick Aoko, has been located after being missing for nearly ten days.
Her aide confirmed the news through a post on Aoko's X account, stating that she was found near the Kenya-Tanzania border.
Aoko was reportedly taken to a nearby hospital by an unidentified person who discovered her outside their gate.
The hospital contacted her family shortly after her admission, prompting Aoko's father to travel to the hospital to check on her condition and gather more information.
Aoko had been untraceable since October 22, raising concerns among her followers and family.

Before she disappeared, her last online posts hinted that she may have been in hiding, potentially due to a post involving a high-ranking government figure referred to as "F."
Initially, her family thought Aoko’s absence might be a routine break from the public eye, as she sometimes takes time away from social media.
However, as days passed with no contact, they grew increasingly worried. Her aide shared that the family hesitated to file a missing person report, allegedly due to threats Aoko had previously received.
Aoko’s disappearance attracted calls for help from human rights advocates, including Law Society of Kenya President Faith Odhiambo, who urged swift action to locate her amid rising concerns for her safety.
This call for support followed recent detentions of other prominent activists, such as Boniface Mwangi, who was detained and released on October 28.
Currently, details about Aoko's health and the events surrounding her disappearance remain unclear.
