Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and activist Eric Omondi are assisting journalist Nasibo Kabale, who is battling mental health challenges, by supporting her rehabilitation.
Nasibo’s family, colleagues, and well-wishers have come together to help, with her now being admitted to a rehabilitation center.
Sonko revealed on Saturday that numerous Kenyans had reached out to him, seeking his intervention.
He assured the public that he is in communication with Nasibo’s family and her former colleagues, pledging his support to help her undergo rehabilitation.
Sonko further shared that with the help of her family, former colleagues, and well-wishers, Nasibo has been admitted to the Mombasa Women Rehabilitation Centre.
He expressed his gratitude to her colleagues in the media for their swift action in supporting her once her situation became known.
"I would like to thank all her friends in the media for standing with her during this difficult time," Sonko stated.

In addition to offering his support, Sonko urged the public to show restraint and respect Nasibo Kabale’s family as they navigate this challenging period.
He emphasized the importance of respecting their privacy, noting that the family, especially her brother, had played a significant role in her rehabilitation journey.
"It is crucial to respect Kabale's family during this time, as they have requested no publicity. They have been instrumental in supporting her through her brother," Sonko added.
Sonko is one of many Kenyans who were moved by Nasibo’s story and have expressed their willingness to assist her in receiving the care she needs to rebuild her life.
In a related development, activist and philanthropist Eric Omondi also visited Nasibo’s family.
He confirmed that she had been flown to a rehabilitation center, reassuring the public of her safety.
"Nasibo is safe and has been taken to a rehabilitation center with her brother's help. She is fine, and we hope for her full recovery. However, we must understand the events leading up to this situation as there were conflicting stories about her condition," Omondi shared.
Omondi dismissed rumors that Nasibo had been living on the streets, confirming that her family, former colleagues, and well-wishers are standing by her side during this difficult time.
Nasibo Kabale’s life took a tragic turn after leaving her role at NMG, where she had been a prominent health reporter during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The challenges of covering the pandemic, along with the emotional toll of witnessing its effects, severely impacted her mental health, eventually leading to depression.
