On Sunday, five people lost their lives in a tragic accident involving a trailer, a tractor, and a car in the Murgus area along the Eldoret-Malaba highway in Kakamega County.

According to reports, the trailer driver was speeding from Eldoret when he hit the rear of a tractor, lost control, and collided with an oncoming Toyota Probox.

The five victims, all from the same family, were returning home after attending a wedding in Busia.

Sadly, they died on the spot, while two others sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital, according to police reports.

Lugari Constituency OCPD Julius Melly confirmed the incident, stating that the bodies had been taken to Webuye Hospital morgue. The injured are currently receiving treatment at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret.
