In a hurry? Here’s a quick summary…
Detectives arrested two more suspects linked to serial murders in Mukuru kwa Njenga, including one with a victim's mobile phone.
Main suspect Collins Khalusha claims police coerced his confession, while family members identify IDs belonging to one of the victims at his residence.
The first suspect, Amos Momanyi Mogusa, was apprehended at City Cabanas on Monday for possessing a mobile phone belonging to one of the victims, Roselyn Akoth Ogongo.
Ogongo’s remains were identified by her family at the Nairobi Funeral Home on the same day.
When giving their statements, Ogongo's family identified her handbag among the items recovered from the residence of the main suspect, Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, who was arrested on Monday and arraigned in court on Tuesday.
"In her statement, a sister to the deceased noted the last time she ever saw her slain sister, she stepped out of the house with the handbag," said the DCI in a statement on Tuesday.

During interrogation, Mogusa led detectives to Moses Ogembo, who reportedly sold him the mobile phone.
"Upon arrest of Amos Momanyi Mogusa at City Cabanas and recovery of the mobile phone yesterday, he led detectives to Ogembo's house at Mukuru kwa Reuben, who was found with a total of 154 used mobile phones stashed in his house," stated the DCI. Ogembo allegedly admitted to purchasing used phones from Khalusha.
Khalusha, who appeared in court on Tuesday, claimed that police coerced him into confessing to the killings.
The court granted the DCI 30 days of custodial orders to detain Khalusha pending the completion of investigations.
"My client, as he sits there, is in dire need of urgent medical attention…for reasons that during the period under detention, he was subjected to molestation, torture, and the confession that the public is being treated to having murdered 42 persons is laughable," argued lawyer John Maina Ndegwa on Khalusha's behalf before the Makadara Law Courts.
Additionally, the DCI confirmed that the family of Imelda Judith Karenya, alleged to be Khalusha's wife and first victim, has identified one of the nine IDs recovered from the suspect's house as belonging to their relative.
