The planned burial of 12-year-old Kennedy Onyango, who was tragically shot dead during anti-government protests in Ongata Rongai, has been abruptly halted.

As the funeral procession made its way to Homa Bay County, police officers intercepted it in Rusinga, creating a distressing scene for the mourners.

Comedian Eric Omondi, who has been actively sharing updates on the situation, revealed on social media that police had set up a roadblock just before the funeral procession reached the homestead.

Omondi reported that the police took away the boy's body, appealing for those responsible to let the grieving mother mourn her son in peace.

"So we got to Homabay to bury the 12-year-old Kennedy and just before getting to the homestead, we found a police roadblock. They took the boy. Whoever is responsible please allow this woman to mourn in Peace and allow her to bury her Son. She has suffered enough," Omondi noted.
