The circumstances surrounding Daniel Koikai's death remain unclear, though some reports suggest it may have been self-inflicted. 

His passing adds another layer of sorrow to a family already mourning the loss of Njambi.

During Njambi's memorial service, Ambassador Daniel Koikai publicly sought forgiveness from his late daughter for his failings as a father.

The father and daughter reconnected when Njambi was in high school. 

Ambassador Koikai recalled, "It is only when you got to Form One and I was back in the country that we were able to meet when you came to the office to look for me." 

Despite the physical distance that had separated them, he made sure to support her education and other needs.
