These revelations have reignited scrutiny over his administration's handling of public funds.

Speaking on his social media platform, Sonko disclosed that certain undisclosed individuals consistently offered him hefty bribes, illustrating the pervasive nature of corruption within Nairobi's administrative machinery.

He emphasized his commitment to combatting corruption by bringing the matter to the attention of President Kenyatta.

These included discrepancies in cash handling procedures, manipulation of receipts, and inadequate digitization of revenue collection channels.

Sonko revealed his efforts to combat corruption, initiating crackdowns at City Hall's Cash Office with the assistance of law enforcement agencies.

Substantial sums of money were seized from cashiers, leading to the closure of loopholes and the implementation of stricter financial protocols.

The former governor highlighted the effectiveness of his anti-corruption measures, noting a significant increase in the county's revenue, which facilitated the clearance of pending bills and staff salaries.

This progress, he asserted, also resulted in a reduction in recurrent expenditure and the allocation of funds for development projects.
