Endometriosis causes tissue similar to the uterine lining to grow outside the uterus, leading to severe pain and complications.

Her condition took a turn for the worse in 2015 when she experienced several pneumothoraces, or collapsed lungs, due to thoracic endometriosis, a rare and severe manifestation of the disease.

This led to numerous surgeries and extended hospital stays, ultimately necessitating specialized medical care abroad as the treatments available in Kenya proved insufficient.

Throughout her health challenges, Koikai has used her platform to become a fierce advocate for women's health. She has openly shared her journey on social media, detailing the physical and emotional struggles of living with a chronic illness. In 2017, she launched a crowdfunding campaign to fund her treatment in the United States.

The campaign received overwhelming support from friends, fans, and well-wishers, allowing her to undergo multiple surgeries and receive the necessary care.

Koikai's advocacy efforts have significantly raised awareness about endometriosis, highlighting the importance of early diagnosis, adequate medical care, and the need for more research and resources.

Her story has empowered many women, proving that resilience and determination can help overcome seemingly insurmountable odds.

As she continues her fight, Koikai remains a symbol of hope and empowerment. She uses her platform not only to educate the public about endometriosis but also to support others facing similar battles, advocating tirelessly for women's health and well-being.
