Speaking to mourners at Obama K’Ogello Primary School in Ngi’ya Village, Oburu noted that it was not the first time a high-ranking official from the Nyanza region had died under such circumstances.
Oburu expressed concern about the frequent accidents and assassinations of leaders from the region, urging a thorough investigation to uncover the truth.

He emphasized the importance of transparency, drawing parallels to previous cases involving the deaths of Tom Mboya and Robert Ouko.
The Senator also criticized Ogolla’s son, Joel Rabuku, for dismissing calls for an investigation into the fatal crash.
Oburu urged Rabuku to allow investigators to conduct a thorough examination, recalling his own experience as part of the team that investigated Ouko's death.
Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka echoed Oburu’s calls for a comprehensive investigation, emphasizing the significance of the matter to the nation.
Musyoka noted that the truth must come to light to alleviate fears and concerns about the circumstances of General Ogolla’s death.
Narc Kenya Party leader Martha Karua and Siaya Governor James Orengo also supported calls for a probe into the accident that killed Ogolla and nine other army officials.
