Brian Ongwae, a 22-year-old university student at Catholic University of East Africa, tragically took his own life in Raila village, Langata constituency.

Following the unsuccessful bet on Tuesday evening, Ongwae seemed deeply disturbed throughout the day.
He retreated into his home, where he could be heard conversing with an unknown individual, leaving his concerned neighbors to wonder about his well-being.
Worried about his prolonged absence, neighbors decided to check on Ongwae at his rented residence, only to make a grim discovery. Shock engulfed them as they found his lifeless body hanging from the rooftop.
George Mukuria, the area chief of Muguimoini, reported that police officers arrived at the scene on Wednesday evening to assess the situation before transporting Ongwae's body to the City Mortuary for further examination through an autopsy.

In a heartbreaking twist, Ongwae left behind a poignant note addressed to his mother, urging her to stay strong amidst the tragedy.
Chief Mukuria expressed his belief that Ongwae's actions were driven by depression stemming from consistent losses in betting.
He urged young people to refrain from such practices to prevent similar unfortunate incidents from occurring.
