Principal Secretary for Immigration and Citizens Services, Prof. Julius Bitok, has announced that the Kenyan government is implementing measures to expedite passport processing, ensuring applicants receive their passports within one month.
Speaking recently, Bitok revealed that President William Ruto has directed the immigration department to resolve the longstanding issue of delays at Nyayo House.
"President Ruto has tasked me with ensuring prompt issuance of passports to Kenyan citizens.

He has collaborated with Ndindi Nyoro to allocate sufficient resources for streamlining the process.
Over the next three months, we aim to eliminate delays and guarantee passport issuance within a month of application," stated Bitok.
Furthermore, Bitok emphasized the president's commitment to facilitating Kenyans' access to international job opportunities, underscoring the importance of efficient passport processing.
These assurances come in the wake of persistent delays experienced by Kenyan passport applicants, despite previous government assurances of prompt service.
The delays have forced many Kenyans to either postpone or cancel their travel plans due to challenges at immigration offices.
