The successful operation involved a collaborative effort among officers from the NPS, specifically from Makindu Police Station, alongside personnel from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS).
This multi-agency approach underscores the coordinated efforts aimed at combatting wildlife trafficking and related offenses.
Subsequent to their arrest, the suspects were taken into custody at Makindu Police Station, where they await arraignment on charges related to the illegal possession of ivory. Their appearance before the court is scheduled for Wednesday, March 13, 2024.
Expressing gratitude, the National Police Service extended appreciation to members of the public for their cooperation in aiding the investigation.
