A house help, identified as a young girl, has been arrested on suspicion of abducting a baby entrusted to her care in Nakuru. 

The incident unfolded when the child's mother, Carolyn Kipnaigei, noticed her absence while the house help failed to pick up another child from school. 

Concerns arose when the house help, who had been employed for two months, disappeared with Kipnaigei's one-year-old and eight-month-old son for at least two days.

The minor, hailing from Baringo North, was placed under custody at Kabarnet Police Station, suspected of kidnapping the infant.

Carolyn Kipnaigei recounted her growing unease as the day progressed without contact from the house help, prompting her to report the matter to the Workers Police Patrol Base in Nakuru.

Authorities swiftly launched an investigation, tracing the suspect's movements to Eldoret and eventually to Kabarnet, where she was apprehended. 

Baringo County Police Commandant Julius Kiragu highlighted suspicions raised by locals regarding the girl's relationship with the child, which led to her arrest.

Carolyn expressed disbelief at the house help's actions, emphasizing their previously unblemished relationship. 

She speculated that external influences might have motivated the abduction, suggesting the girl may have been under duress. 

The police echoed Carolyn's sentiments, indicating ongoing inquiries into potential coercion behind the incident.
