Embakasi authorities sprang into action on Monday, rescuing 16 children found in captivity within a house in Soweto, Kayole.
The swift response followed a report filed by Daniel Odongo, a dedicated children protection officer serving in Embakasi Central constituency.
Odongo's alert directed law enforcement to a property in the Nyando area, where the children were discovered.
Subsequently, Kenyan national Linet Akinyi and Tanzanian citizen Isaack Mwanjeka were apprehended at the scene.
Unable to account for the presence of the minors under their care, Akinyi and Mwanjeka were taken into custody. The children were found residing in cramped quarters within a two-room rental.
Authorities suspect the children may have been destined for trafficking purposes, prompting an immediate launch of investigations. Both suspects remain in police custody pending further inquiries."
