Ezekiel Machogu, the Education Cabinet Secretary, has revealed the eagerly awaited 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination results, shedding light on the secondary school placements for candidates. This marks a crucial step for parents and their children who are poised to transition to Form One in the coming year.

The announcement took place at Lenana School in Nairobi after a meticulous two-week placement exercise conducted by the Ministry of Education.

Machogu emphasized the significance of accessing placement information promptly and seamlessly, directing parents to download placement letters directly from the Ministry's official website at http://www.education.go.ke/.

To facilitate this process, parents are guided to the Online Services section on the website, where two links are provided.

They are instructed to click on the first link titled "Click here to Access Form One Placement: link 1." This link redirects them to the Kenya Education Management Information System (KEMIS) website, accessible at http://kemis.education.go.ke.

Upon reaching the KEMIS website, parents will find a section titled "2024 Form One Selection and Placement." Clicking on this tab initiates a page where they must input their child's index number and a name (only one name if the candidate has two names, for instance, John Sue).

After clicking the search section, the results will be displayed on the screen. A noteworthy feature is the "Access calling letter Here" section below the results. By clicking this section, parents are directed to a page with a link titled "Click here to Access Form One School Placement Letter," allowing them to download the placement letter.

Cabinet Secretary Machogu reassured the public about the reliability of the website, emphasizing its accuracy. He detailed that the placement process took into account the school choices made by the learners, among other criteria, and addressed concerns about potential fee increments.

Machogu clarified that some students may find themselves placed in schools of equivalent standing outside their counties due to capacity limitations. However, he gave assurance that there would be no fee increment in the coming year.

The government remains committed to providing free day secondary education, and schools will continue to receive funds based on accurate enrollment data. This comprehensive approach aims to ensure a fair and accessible education system for all students.
