Authorities in Hamisi Constituency, located in Vihiga County, are currently conducting a thorough investigation into a tragic incident involving the fatal stabbing of a Form Four student, reportedly triggered by a love triangle.

This unfortunate event led to the arrest of two individuals suspected of being involved in a retaliatory attack. In this act of revenge, a group of young men set fire to nine houses in Musunji village. Their motive was to avenge the untimely demise of the Form Four student.

As reported by local residents, the deceased was attacked by two young men, one of whom was armed with a knife. Tragically, the victim was fatally stabbed in the chest, resulting in his immediate death.

The roots of this violent conflict appear to be a romantic dispute between the deceased student and another individual, both of whom were entangled in a love affair with the same girlfriend.

The brutal killing of the student ignited a wave of anger among local youths, leading to acts of rioting. In their fury, they set fire to houses belonging to the family of the young lady involved in the love triangle and also looted valuable possessions.

Hamisi's Police Chief, Ruth Lagat, has expressed a commitment to ensuring that justice is served. She has vowed that no effort will be spared in the pursuit of all those responsible for these disturbing events, underscoring the importance of bringing the perpetrators to justice.
