Peter, also known by the alias Passy Ma Trevor, was apprehended on Thursday in Kantafu, Machakos County, and faces charges of real estate fraud and operating an illegal money-lending scheme.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) revealed that detectives from Nairobi’s Kasarani Sub-County headquarters received a 30-day custodial order from the Makadara Law Courts to keep the 36-year-old in custody.

According to the DCI, the fraud has impacted over 300 Kenyans, with more than sixty victims already providing statements.
The number of affected individuals is expected to rise significantly as the investigation progresses.
Police allege that Peter, who posed as a businesswoman, managed and rented out people’s money through an illegal lending institution.
She ran an investment scheme promising a 30 percent return on savings but disappeared and went into hiding after receiving payments.
Most of her victims are reported to be from Nairobi, Kajiado, Machakos, and Kiambu counties.
The detectives are working to gather more evidence to build a strong case and ensure justice for the victims.
