Two Suspected Sim-Swap Fraudsters Arrested In Mulot

Two individuals suspected of involvement in a syndicate orchestrating sim-card fraud across Bomet, Kericho, and Nakuru Counties have been captured, according to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). 

Kevin Kiplangat, also known as Elvis, aged 31, and Evan Kiprotich Chirchir, alias Protio, aged 22, were apprehended in the areas of Mulot and Chepalungu in Bomet, respectively.

Their arrest follows numerous complaints from the public regarding sim swap fraud. 

Currently detained at Litein Police Station, they await their appearance at Kericho Law Courts for their alleged involvement in a violent robbery on December 29, 2023. 

Additionally, the DCI stated that the suspects will face proceedings at other police stations where electronic fraud cases linked to them have been registered.
